Being ready for a disaster is the best way you can help. And when a disaster happens, you'll be prepared to quickly step up and support organized efforts.

2. Conduct a risk assessment to identify potential emergency scenarios

3. Offer CPR or first aid training to employees or members

4. Conduct drills for sheltering in place or evacuating

5. Meet with your insurance provider to assess coverage before disaster strikes

6. Schedule an audit of your facility to evaluate disaster readiness

7. Support the volunteer schedule of your employees or members

8. Hold a drive for blood, goods or cash to support recovery efforts

9. Have an alternate location to conduct business or a plan to scale back operations if needed
